When should you get your bridal spray tan?

We recommend scheduling your bridal spray tan 2-3 days before your wedding for the most natural fade and optimal color. Planning a trial? Book it for your makeup preview! That way you can see how everything will look together. Your makeup artist can also give you any advice to let your spray tan artist know for the big day!

How to prepare for your bridal spray tan?

2–3 Weeks Before:
• If you haven't already, schedule a trial tan.
• Finalize your desired depth of color.

24 Hours Before:
• Shave or wax.
• Exfoliate thoroughly — avoid oil-based scrubs.
• Skip lotions, oils, perfume, and deodorant.

​

Day of Appointment:
• Wear loose, dark clothing.
• Bring flip flops.
• Arrive with completely clean skin.

• Be sure to purchase any body wash, body butter, oil, aerosol sprays from your artist to keep your tan looking its best!

After Your Tan:
• Avoid water and sweating until your first rinse.
• Follow your artist’s rinse instructions carefully.
• Moisturize daily to extend your glow through your honeymoon.

How long does the application process take?

In Salon- The Bridal Tan takes 30 minutes.

In Home- Each session takes 30-45 minutes (including set up & break down).

How long does a sunless spray tan last?

The length of your spray tan depends on a few different factors, such as, how well you prepped your skin, your skin type and your activity level (multiple showers, working out, exfoliation, sweating, etc.) Keeping your skin hydrated from the inside out is so important...drink a lot of water and lather on that moisturizer! Keep your showers cool and short, pat the skin dry.

Will the spray tan rub off on my dress?

Short answer, yes. Should you choose a solution with a bronzer, it will rub off on the inside of your dress. Think areas like the under arms, under the breasts, torso...those are high friction areas. Since we know this about the solutions with a cosmetic bronzer, we offer our sweat resistant that goes into your custom mix and will help the tan not to transfer onto clothing, and if it does, it's extremely minimal. The other option is to do our clear solution, since there is no bronzer the transfer is almost non existent. We can't guarantee there won't be any transfer, but we do spray A LOT of brides and they continue to return for sprays for all of their events. If you wash your items promptly, you shouldn't have a problem with staining. Please stay away from coming in contact with silk, leather, or suede before your first shower as these items may stain.

Do you customize the spray tan solution to each skin type?

​During your appointment, your artist will consult with you to decide which solution will work best for your skin type and lifestyle. 

 

Classic Bronzer is what most clients will use when they want to see immediate color and do not want to wait for the sunless tanner to kick in. The color is rich & natural. We recommend anyone brand new to spray tanning do this. This bronzing solution delivers a beautiful color with a slight reddish undertone, making it seem like you were actually in the sun!

Clear is used when a client is concerned about some of the bronzer transferring onto their clothing, towels or sheets. In this case they are not concerned with immediate results and are happy for it to develop gradually. An example may be a bride who is concerned about getting bronzer on her wedding dress or someone who gets sprayed and plans to go to bed immediately after (and doesn’t need immediate color). We love this option for our brides, however since it is a CLEAR solution customizing it isn't an option if you want to keep the solution clear. We can customize the solution though, just keep in mind that it will no longer be a clear solution since we have to add bronzers to create a neutral tan.

 

Rapid solution..pretty much sums it up. This rapid developer is so rich and immediate, clients have the option to shower in just 2 hours or for darker results keep it on for 6+ hours, however, it continuously deepens over a 12 hour period. This solution absorbs & dries quickly leaving your skin feeling hydrated not sticky. We aren't surprised with how popular this color has become amongst our clients!

Should I book a trial tan?

Ummmm YESS! Trials help us create the perfect glow for you. It allows you to see how the color looks after 1 day, 2 days, 3 days and so on. This also gives you the opportunity to choose the best time to come in based on when you loved the color the most. And one of our favorite things, is you get to see how the color looks on you with your partner! We don't want your tan to overpower your fiancé, so you can see in real time how you look as a couple which is the best reason if you ask us! Trials also give us the opportunity  to tweak your custom formula, did you feel too dark? Did you think it was a bit too light? Did your makeup artist prefer nothing on your face? Would you like the color to be a bit warmer? Do you want to see how adding more violet would look on your skin? Or it was perfect, don't change a thing. So many things we can adjust once you have that first glow with us!

What if I have sensitive skin?

We always will suggest getting a test patch. It's better to have a reaction in a small area than your entire body. But a good thing to keep in mind is, if you've had spray tans before or used a sunless tanner...did you have a reaction then? If yes, chances are you may also have a reaction with us. The common ingredient in all sunless tanners is DHA, it's what reacts with your skin to give it the glow of your dreams. Sometimes the culprit is the cosmetic bronzer, so in that case we always recommend the clear solution. It's also a great solution to apply if you have sensitive skin on your face.

Can I tan before my bachelorette?

The question shouldn't be "can I" it should read "when can I!" HA... heckkk yeah you should tan before your bach! Come on, a gettaway somewhere tropical, pools and beaches are involved...you're the bride to be so everything you're packing is white, it's a no brainer. Most brides don't use this as their bridal preview tan...since they usually go darker and want all the bronzyness. But we are all for getting sprays for all of your events: engagement photos, bachelorette, bridal shower, and of course the rehearsal which is attached to the wedding day spray.
